We love our niece and nephew :)

Can I just tell you how fun it's been for me to be an Aunt? I adored Kaleb from the start and having him be my nephew through marriage has been fun. And then my older sister finally had a baby! I have been waiting for this forever! :) And can I just tell you? I love her so much. Having her be a new addition to our family has been a blessing and she fits right in perfectly. My sister is staying with my parents while her husband is away; living in Florida for his new position in the Navy. He is anxiously awaiting his new little family to join him, and the two girls love and miss him. But I must say, my heart will break when little Emmy will leave us in just a month. I got to be there for the birth and my sister did a flawless job. It was so easy and Emmy was perfect from the start. Erwin joined us later after school at the hospital, and now he and I have the blessing to see sweet baby Emmy as much as we can before she leaves. She looks just like her dad, and she often will drift into sleeps with one eye half open. :) She grunts, kicks her feet a lot and smiles in her sleep. She never cries and is so sweet and cuddly. She is strong and loves to hold her head up and look around with her beautiful blue eyes. Whenever I am having a rough day I go see Emmelin. Whenever I want to smile, I go see her. I love spending time with my sister and enjoy this time I have.

When cute Kaleb was here with us for the 4th of July, I got some cute pictures of him and his sweet face just makes me smile and his big grin showing his new little teeth. I feel blessed to be an Aunt. I get to hug them and kiss them and spoil them. I have a fun and handsome nephew, and a tender, beautiful niece.

I love the expansion of families. Whether it be new in-laws or new babies, or friends who touch your heart that they are basically family...I love it. Our families are meant to grow and change, and it has been such a blessing for me personally. :)

amen, being an aunt is so great! and your niece is so precious! although it's pretty junky that she'll be far away, fb updates, blog posts, and weekly skypes help. and it's a great excuse to have them visit you/you visit them! trust me, i know. ;P

Great post. The epilogue was especially poignant.
