As I sit here thinking about how once again, we are starting a new chapter with school and work, I am in awe with how time passes by so quickly. I feel like it was just yesterday that I moved into our little apartment with Erwin. I also can't believe that summer is now coming to a close and we are back to homework, rushed lives, packed schedules and homework and work stress. Life really passes by! I was reflecting about the summer that has now ended for us, and fondly thought of all the good things we were able to see, do and enjoy. Friends, family and vacations. :) I'm sad to see it end, but excited for the new adventures that await us. Erwin will be that much more done with school and closer to graduation, I am ready to have kids back in the classroom and learning from being in a new school and working with new teachers. We enjoy progression and all that we gain from it.
I also love the fall. I love cooler weather, wearing jackets, seeing the leaves change color and fresh rain. So I'm excited for that at least. :)
We have been blessed this summer. Erwin was able to take summer classes and do very well in all of them. Our "dart" has functioned well and gotten him back and forth from Provo with little problem. My summer job was a little rough to begin with, but it all worked out well, and in the end was a blessing for me and really helped prepare me for the upcoming school year with my kids and their families.
Erwin and I were able to have fun this summer as well, and feel blessed for the time we got to share. Whether it was time alone or with friends and family, it was nice and we appreciate a good, relaxing summer. We got to see Ally and Evan, spend 4th of July with the Wright/Rivas family, help Cami guys move, go to different events, see the Ligget parents, spend time with baby Emmy, see Meagan while she was here visiting, vacation in Philly, stay in Park City and see lots of movies. We also got to sleep in quite a bit, spend some nice time together alone and enjoy being more involved in the ward. The Lord has been good to us with good friends, family and the means to get out and about and enjoy our personal lives.
Now that school is beginning, we feel sad that a lot of those things will have to end for now, and an extra stress is now settling upon us. Erwin is taking lots of hard classes, most Chemistry based, and will have to endure a 45-55 minute commute back and forth every day. There will be lots of study groups, late nights in the library and extra homework. But we are blessed for scholarships, transportation, the means to get an education and be that much closer to graduation. I am so proud of him and how hard he works for not only himself and his success, but for us as a family and all that entails to stay close to each other and to the Lord.
As a Family Advocate, I have lots ahead of me to get ready to serve my kids and their families. They transferred me out to a West Valley school, where 90% of my families are only Spanish speaking. I have to get forms ready, programs instilled, things organized, computer data entered and lots of meetings to set up. I feel nervous, overwhelmed and tired already! But we are blessed for a job that helps this family and the opportunity to work hard, grow and serve others. The Lord has blessed us with a home, food, support and love. We appreciate all He does for us.
I trust in the Lord and His promises. I believe in tithing, following the commandments and striving to serve others. I believe in the Holy Ghost, his influence and how he helps us in every day situations. I believe in the Atonement. I trust in blessings that come from following the Lord and being an example. I will do whatever it takes for my new family with Erwin, to follow the Lord, do what He would have us do, and be worthy of blessings. I know with work coming up for me, and school for Erwin, as long as we keep God in the equation and at the head, all things will work out and we will be watched over. I am so grateful for the gospel and the comfort and happiness it brings in all things.
Here are some pics from the summer that show a bit of what we did and with whom. It was a great summer. Thanks to everyone who made it fun. :)
