Grateful

This morning, Erwin and I sat in our room atop our bed and read the Ensign together. We read the article below by Elder Eyring, about choosing to be grateful, especially at this time of year. The article challenged us to list 100 things we are grateful for, and gave us a how-to-guide at the end. Erwin and I sat there holding each other, and listed off 10 things of nature, people, modern technologies, foods, materialistic things, gospel principles, etc., that we were grateful for. As we sat and reflected, we each shared our testimonies of the gospel and of the Atonement of Christ, and I couldn't help but feel very blessed. Even in the most simple of ways, I can see how fortunate we are. We made a goal, to pray to have the spirit open our minds and eyes to see all the ways that we are blessed, and that we might always remember our Savior in all things. I am grateful for the Prophet and Apostles who's words bring me such comfort, hope and love.

That sounds like a wonderful activity for couples. We love that you started your brainstorm session with prayer to have the spirit open your eyes and minds. We like the idea that you created 10 categories, then listed ten things to be thankful. It shouldn't be a once-in-a-lifetime, but on regular basis, maybe monthly?
