Yeah....that happened

Remember how I was raised a huge Ute fan? I do. Red was our shining color and whenever the Utes played BYU, we always got into a friendly rivalry with our neighbors with silly pranks or displays of pride on our lawns. Some of the jokes were silly....like we would give Ute stuff to the Y fans, and in return we would get Y stuff on birthday's and such. It never got serious, and I was never mean or a hater on BYU. It was just fun to have the family team be the U. I had Ute pride!!
When I married Erwin, I realized I would have to accept seeing Y mugs in the cupboard, a few sweatshirts that say "Cougars" on them and cheers for when they win at football. It was a funny adjustment for me....I never knew I could learn to like them more! hee hee.
Recently, Head Start held yet again, another training out in Sandy for the entire company. But this time, they asked us to wear shirts and colors to represent a friendly competition against Byu and Ute fans. To my surprise, my boss called the night before and asked me if I would wear Byu appearal, so support some Byu students who were coming to present at our training. She knew the majority of the employees would wear red, and she wanted to be nice to Provo peeps. I couldn't help but laugh. And remember that Byu shirt Erwin got me for Christmas? It came in perfectly. I swallowed my pride and wore it. They had a drawing, so I put my ticket into the bucket and carried on.

Welp, it's true. There I was. Back row. In a big room with stadium seating. I was chatting with my friends and laughing, when I heard my raffle ticket number get called from up front. I had won Byu stuff. I turned pink and walked down all the stairs before everyone to accept my prizes as a Y fan....bwa ha ha. I laughed and knew the prizes would go right to Erwin. I got a shirt and a little stuffed animal. (Pics below) Wahoo! I was a BYU fan for a day!

The shirt I wore

The Shirt I won...I forgot the pic of the stuff animal. But here is to another shirt! :)

SO funny!!! :P (And that is actually a nice BYU shirt, if I do say so myself!) I give you credit for wearing opposing colors, though. I don't know if I could! :D
