My lucky day with Erwin. :)

So my cute husband is now in a new semester in school once again. Poor thing. But, now he doesn't have class every day, which is a huge blessing. He doesn't have to drive every single day to Provo and he can rest more and study lots in the quiet house while I'm gone. But guess what he wants to do with one of his first semi-free days? He wants to come to work with me. :) I could not have been more excited to have him come spend the day with me and some of my favorite little ones!
Needless to say, he was a hit. The kids are so used to female teachers, that the kids were in awe of him. They all wanted to play with him, learn more about him, and all the girls wanted to hold his hand on the way over to eat lunch. :)
The teachers put him to work with the kids right away. He got to help them paint their hands and put their little prints on the wall as a flower, he played "house", waiter and store clerk with the kids. :) It was so tender to watch, and he was so great with all the kids.

When the second class arrived for the afternoon session, we switched classrooms and went and hung out with the 3 yr olds. He was a big hit with the boys over there, especially one little boy in particular. It was kind of a big deal for us teachers to watch this little kid open up. He was shy, played alone, never made eye contact and liked to only let his mom read him books. He was smiley, polite and sweet, but he didn't get close to anyone. Erwin shows up, greets him and talks to him in Spanish and he opened right up in a way none of us had ever really seen. I couldn't help but feel so excited to see them together interacting and watching this boy really come out in a way we had never seen. We all felt grateful to witness it. We told his mom the news when she came to pick him up, and she was grateful. The next day this boy was waiting and waiting for Erwin to show up. When he didn't, he went home and told his mom that Erwin doesn't need a wife, he just needs to live with him forever. Adorable no? haha.

I don't know what it was about Erwin, but he shined that day. Not only for the kids, but for me. I loved seeing my dear husband be so kind, loving, fun, goofy and sweet with the kids. I imagined what kind of dad he will be, and it warmed my heart. I sure lucked out. :) And to top it off, he sat in my little, ghetto cubicle and did a lot of my data entry work for me while I filed and did other things. He was so willing and good natured about the whole thing. I loved spending the entire day with him. :) It felt good to share where I work together and have him meet some people I truly love. And of course show him off to everyone too was fun. It was a great day. :)

Our little sweetheart, opening up to my adorable and loving husband. They sure enjoyed lots of book time together.

Yup, my little ghetto work place. I love it.

We laughed a lot. He was so helpful!

That really WAS a great day-Erwin played so easily and so naturally with all the children!
