My friends and my family

"That Sarah is one social butterfly." I grew up hearing people tell my parents that my whole childhood, teen years, and even into adulthood. I also heard quite a bit, "Sarah has quite the gift of gab!" :p I have loved people, family and friends and being social since I was just a little girl. I love to talk, meet new people, explore new places and be around others. It is who I am. Now, this doesn't mean I am always outgoing or the worlds most popular girl or that I don't know how to be shy, because trust me, I do. But I do love social interactions. Sometimes I enjoy it most in big groups, but other times, I love just my small group of friends, who know me and love me and who have the best times together.

There are some people in my life, who I value and hold dear to me. Heavenly Father knew that a huge majority of people that He would bless me with are incredible friends, who are like my family. It is because of the wonderful and sacred relationships that I have found, that taught me that family is not always blood.

I look back over the course of my life, and see that I have been hugely impacted by those whom I chose to be my dearest and closest friends. I can think of the ways they helped shape me, support me, love me, teach me and guide me. I remember telling secrets, sharing love stories, sleep overs, driving together, laughing, crying, hugs, playing barbies, working together and being there for one another. They helped me along my path of surviving kid years, high school, college, my mission and now just every day life.

Can I share them with you? These are some of the people who are my dearest and closest friends, throughout the course of my life.

These are my childhood best friends. We have known each other since birth and shared so many memories together.

This is us all grown up today. We love each other and work hard to keep in touch and remember our sweet childhood together. They remind me where I came from and how I've grown. They keep me laughing and inspired and continue to teach me. We love each other!

These are my college friends from USU. They were there for me in that transition period into "adulthood". They were my confidants, best friends, support and sisters all through college. They have influenced my decisions and course of actions many a time, and I love them so much. They have supported me and kept me smiling.  We are going on 8 years keeping in touch and seeing each other often.

These girls know me in ways no one else does. These are my mission sisters. We became the best of friends and were there for each other in the most trying, hard, happiest and craziest time of our life. The mission in Ecuador was complete because these girls came into my life. We grew together spiritually with the Lord, while teaching His children. We wiped each others tears, laughed our faces off and worked hard, side by side. We still keep in touch to this day and love to get together. We are going on 6 years of sweet friendship.

This is Dallin Cowles. She was my MTC companion and my angel while we lived together for 9 weeks. We were opposites, that were also way too much alike, and we became the best of friends. Dallin was my support, my coach, the one who kept me on the floor laughing and intrigued with her wit. She is so thoughtful and kind and will always be there for you. She is such a dear, sweet part of my life, and I know the good Lord brought us together for such a profound reason. We still get together almost every month and she still keeps me laughing. We also have 6 years as close friends. And I know she will stay close in my life forever.

This is Richy. She was one of my closest companions from the mission. She gives the best hugs and has the cutest laugh and will do anything to let you know how much she loves you. We dreamed together, laughed, worked SO hard together and kept the other one safe. She helped me grow and progress and she is there for me along every step of the way. We still talk often and if she didn't live in Cali, I know I would see her lots. 6 years and going strong!

Ahh....these girls were my solid rocks after my mission and were there for me all the way until I moved from Logan to SLC. (The bride and the girl on the right are the two I am referring to) Melanie (the bride), was smart, an intellectual, brilliant, musical and funny. She always had my back and trusted me. She was my roomie who loved late night dances and taking long walks. She taught me the importance of learning, knowing and being who we are. Erin, is the next girl. We were connected at the hip and did everything together. She was honest, outgoing, fun, sporty and spiritual. She was my biggest fan and wanted the best for me always. They were my closest friends who knew me best.

Okay, everyone also knows about my cousin Heidi and my sister Amy. Heidi and I have been best friends since birth. She is so smart, fun, kind and a wonderful artist. She has kept my secrets, supports my dreams and we share the best and funniest memories together. She is my rock and I am so glad to have her as family.
My sister Amy, is also pretty great. We can sit and quote movies for hours, share recipes and memories, laugh, tease and be artsy together. She is thoughtful and hard working and teaches me lots about progression and life. She will do lots for me and is always there to chat and talk to and who listens to me. I'm glad we are sealed together forever!

This is Kelli. She is my sweet co-worker who is a native Utahn, but my go-to Japanese expert. :) She is not just a girl who I work with, but my dear friend. Ask everyone, they know I talk about her lots. I love talking with her and how fun it is for us to laugh, vent and bond. She is great about calling to check up on me, see how I'm doing, support me, listen to me vent about work, takes me out to dinner and is there for me on a personal level. She is polite, kind, thoughtful and hard working and honest. Everyone loves her and wants to be her friend, and I'm lucky I'm one of them! She really does gets me through, and I value out relationship immensely. She has taught me so much,  and I admire her and I know we will continue to be dear friends even after work.

Haha! I love these girls!! This is our usual gang at work. We love each other so much, we hang outside of work quite often, and when we do, Erwin expects me to be happy and my cheeks hurting from laughing. They are always there for me and are my support and cheerleaders with everything. They make my job amazing and bearable and they teach me every day.

I KNOW the Lord has brought me to all of these amazing people in my life. I thank Him almost every day for  the sweet and influential people who He guides me to. I'm grateful that I love friends. And that I like to gab. ;) It helped me in meeting these people and creating beautiful and eternal relationships. These pictures are just a glimpse into what these friends have done for me in my life. I am so blessed to still talk to all of them, see them and have them be my family.

So thank you to those who love me. Who work hard to keep our friendship intact and full of love. I love you all!

Because I use my blog as a journal for my children, I feel that posts like these are important. I'm glad you took the time to write about it :)
