I read an article once that talked all about how couples can keep things fun and alive in their marriage while increasingly growing in love. One of the suggestions was to celebrate little, funny, personal or even goofy things that mean something to one another.
Well, Erwin being the thoughtful and romantic husband that he is, surprised me with our "500 days of being married" anniversary! And since I am a big fan of the "little things" this was so wonderful for me.
I opened the door to my home after a long drive home from work, and the first things I see are purple orchids and a card; both being held in the hands of my strikingly handsome husband. He excitedly exclaimed to me the reason for everything, and not only that, he was all dressed up! He stood there in slacks, a nice dress shirt, brand new dress shoes and clean shaven. (I will post a pic of this when I can find it!) He admitted he was a bit uncomfortable with the hot weather, tight shoes and "dressy look", but because he knows I like it, he went out and got all dolled up for me. I grinned from ear to ear and couldn't help but fall in love all over again with my darling husband.
That night he took me out to dinner and brought me home to number candles of 500, and dessert. Needless to say, Erwin is great at keeping me surprised, swept off my feet and feeling special!
