Robbed!

Welp, Erwin and I were robbed. Again...only this time they didn't jimmy into our car. They busted out our window and stole more stuff. Erwin's backpack was stolen, and he was heartbroken. It had lots of sentimental things inside. (no value for money) I found out about it on my way to work. A neighbor text me and asked me if I had seen our car window. I quickly turned around and headed out. I saw the damage, and was upset. I went inside, woke Erwin up and told him the news.
The "now-get-to-work-on-getting-this-fixed-and-taken-care-of" kicked in. I watched my dad for years talk to people, deal with situations and make things happen. I immediately called my insurance agency. Then I called the police and reported it. Then I called a glass repair store and made an appointment to get the window replaced. It took forever with all the calls, policy numbers, describing what happened, getting case numbers and an appointment made, but it all happened. I actually felt quite accomplished and was glad to know where to go and use some people skills to get things done faster.
Poor Erwin was really sad about his loss, and the first thing I wanted to do with him was pray. I gave him a hug, and we thanked Heavenly Father that it was just our car that was broken in to and not our home and that we were not harmed. I thanked him that nothing else was stolen. I thanked him for the resources to get things fixed and for support all around us. I prayed for the robber, who was busted our window and stole from us, that he might be blessed, and blessed to find a better lifestyle where he can know right from wrong and find the things he needs to be happy in a righteous way.
We felt better right away, and were able to get on with our day with peace and a happy heart, for we truly were blessed, despite our loss.
