Ian

Ian is Erwin's old roommate. They lived together for a summer, and they were roomies while Erwin and I were in the prime of our dating.

Ian was actually the nicest roommate I met through Erwin. He was very attentive to me and Erwin and he loved to tease and be THE main attention of our focus. He is goofy, nerdy, overwhelming at times :p and such a kid at heart it seems. No matter what, Erwin was always very kind and gracious toward Ian. He had lots of patience and was a good friend to him, no matter how different they were/are. All 3 of us actually became good friends.

Ian recently moved back from Florida and got engaged. We were so happy for him. His parents are not here in Utah, nor are they members. When Ian went through the temple for the first time, he called up Erwin and asked him to be his escort. Erwin was flattered and was surprised that Ian looked him up after not seeing him for 2 years and asked him to be there by his side. I wasn't surprised at all . I knew Erwin made a lasting impression on this boy, and I was so proud that Erwin said yes and made a great effort to be there for Ian's first temple session, but also for his actual sealing as well. I am grateful for a loving husband who makes efforts with everyone and is a good example.
We had such a lovely time in the Provo temple, and it was so neat to be there with not only Ian, but with my husband. We felt peace in the temple and a wonderful reminder of how special and important it is to sit and feel closer to the Lord.
