Moved!

It's been forever since I last posted. I think about blogging....probably almost every day. I am finally getting around to it!

Erwin and I have now been settled in our new apartment for almost 2 months. My last post about moving was me being more depressed than anything, but the Lord has been good to us, and everything with the transition worked out well and we adjusted rather smoothly.
It was a blessing to move when we did. Even though I was not allowed to bend or pick up anything (which made it difficult to help to my hearts desire), we were blessed with this move. Erwin wasn't working at the time, and he had all day, every day to pack, clean and get things moved over to the new place. I still can't believe that he did the majority himself! We eventually rented a Uhaul, and got some family and friends to come help, but there wasn't much to help with, because Erwin was so determined to get it all done and not burden anyone. :) I am grateful for my dad and brother, and friends John and Steve who came and helped us finish the last moving shove, out of our old place. And of course, to my dedicated husband, who made it truly all happen, and was so positive about it.
On the day of the last move, our new landlords were having a birthday party in their backyard. Every able young man from the party, came and helped us finish unloading the truck and was so kind to ask to help with putting together furniture. Another sweet blessing from our Heavenly Father.
Erwin then again, spent the majority of his days unpacking, cleaning and reorganizing everything. I couldn't believe how determined he was to "just get it done" and start truly living in our new place, free of mess. I am a much slower mover than he is, and if it were up to me, we might still be living in and out of boxes. Thank goodness for Erwin!
The transition to living has not been too not bad. We enjoy the bigger place, a great kitchen, cozy fireplace, bigger washer and dryer and of course, my favorite-a dishwasher! It felt like home after we got all the picture up and things tidied and put away. I was grateful for that.
I do miss having big windows and sunlight coming in-we have such tiny window wells! It's always freezing down here, but I will count that as a blessing, come the hot summer. I don't like that we don't have our own entrance-we have to cut through the landlords garage. But all things considering, Erwin and I feel very blessed to have nice landlords, a nice neighborhood, friendly ward, great location to almost everything, and security.
Have you seen our place yet? Well, come visit if not! We enjoy visitors! The Rivas family came to visit us on a Saturday right after we moved in, and we really enjoyed ourselves. More people have come to spend time with us, so keep it coming! :)
Moving was a hard thing for me. So much time, effort, stress, sleepless nights, nerves, frustration and coordination. After we move from here, I hope to never have to again. :)
I know the Lord has a plan for this family and me. Things may not start out always ideal, or even become the dream come true. But for now, I know that we will see the blessings come to us while we live here this short year, and I look forward to what those will be.

the never ending pile of boxes...

Erwin being so diligent

I stared at this pile forever...wishing it would just go away itself.
