We went on a cooler, rainy Saturday to Hogle Zoo for the first time in years! And our first time with Wa'akea. I loved that there weren't many people and that we weren't sweating and dying hot while walking around. We got to enjoy seeing the new Lions that just arrived, and the elephants, monkeys, bears, hippos, etc. It was really fun and instead of pushing baby in the stroller, we ended up holding him the entire time so he could see everything. He's still pretty small, but he did respond well to all of the animals that moved around quickly. But let's be honest, his favorite were the monkeys (shocker) and they sure were active that day. Wa'a was vocal himself with his new favorite way to communicate: screeching and yelling at everything. The animals all looked his way to say Hi back, as well as everyone else. haha. It was such a nice time, and it made it so much more fun with Wa'a. Having kids puts a whole new spin on activities and it's so great to see them have a good time. We can't wait for him to get older, and to add more kids to the clan and do lots of fun things just like this as a family.
