I loooove the zoo! And thanks to my awesome friend Tecia, we have been able to go a few times for free! (Thanks to her Zoo pass that allows her to bring guests on her pass!) This year, she invited us and the Allen family (my usual peeps) to see the Zoo lights. I was so excited to go, and ended up having a great time. The weather was actually pretty amazing for that time of year and night, and it all worked out perfectly to be there all together.
The kids got to meet Santa first thing and see his reindeer. I wondered if Wa'a was going to cry while sitting on his lap, but he instead just looked really confused and a little nervous. He kept pointing at me while staring Santa down. :)
All the kids did pretty well actually, and I love the group shot we got all together.
There were of course not many animals out and it was too dark to see some in their cages, but the amazing lights made up for that and instead we got to see the lights in the shapes of animals. They were so creative and quite fun and I was amazed at all the hard work they put into making the entire zoo so festive and bright. Wa'a was mesmerized and Erwin and I had a great time with friends and their sweet kids.
(a lot of the pics are out of order, but I am too tired to try and get them switched around.)
We had also heard of an amazing lit up tree in Draper called the "Tree of Life." We took a Sunday night and went and visited the park to see this special tree, and it was actually quite beautiful. (even though when we went, a lot of the tree lights were out. booo) Lots of other trees had been lit up and decorated, and we had a good time walking around, taking pics and letting Wa'a get all his energy out. It was a great time.
