Ah, this picture makes me so happy. It was Clara Joy's blessing day, and it was a beautiful day surrounded with family. (Anderson's and Rob, oh how I missed you being there!)
Despite the hiccups we faced, (like our homeward Bishop not showing up and not being reachable until hours later....) everything was wonderful. Bishop Merrill stepped in and came to preside (I love him!), almost all family was there, and the weather was great.
I decided to have the baby wear the same blessing dress I did as when I was blessed. I really liked the sentimentality behind it and would love to see a granddaughter of mine in it one day. It's a sweet little light pink dress, and I added some booties and a headband. (Thank to my mom for getting those for her! They were perfect!) She also adorned the bracelets that Erwin had given her when she was first born. She was tiny and sweet and as calm as could be that day.
Erwin was nervous, but ready. He always disappears into a room to pray and ponder right before we gather together and I am grateful for his worthiness to bless our children. And he did a beautiful job with her blessing. I could tell the words were full of light and love and that the spirit of our Heavenly Father was there surrounding this precious new life. In one part of the blessing, Erwin became very emotional and that of course led me to be as well. The tears fell of love and joy. Her little soul is so amazing, and I became overwhelmed with the blessing of having another child join our family and complete us even more.
I am so grateful for my dad, father-in-law and brothers-in-law who are always there to love and support our family with their priesthood power. My children are also so blessed with a big, loving extended family, and the gospel that brings us together is an incredible blessing that I cherish.
We are so grateful for Clara Joy Kekaimalie, and who she is and all she brings. I'm eternally in debt to my Father in Heaven for blessing us with her pure and sweet spirit, and look forward to our life together.
