Christmas festivities part 1

With a broken leg, Christmas was a bummer this year for me in the fact that we couldn't get out and do much. But, we found an outdoor activity that allowed us to stay in the car! We drove to Provo and let the kids sit up front with us aa we drove around by Utah Lake and watched an amazing light show display. Wa'a was in heaven, and Kekai just couldn't stop staring. Erwin and I felt so pleased to be able to do this as a family and enjoy some Christmas activity together.

My extended family still gets together every December 23rd, for our family party. This year, it was so fun, and I was overwhelmed with love for these people I get to call my own! There was a buffet of yummy food and dessert and chairs set up all around so we could mingle with one another. My aunt set up tables in the back of the gym (we were at a church) and hired a YW from her ward to come and do activities with the little kids so the adults could just chat. It was great! Wa'a played with clay and puzzles and balls the entire time.
We then went and sat all together while certain families displayed their talents for our talent show! I wish more people had done something, but what we had was great.
There was Irish dancing, interactive singing, guitar and piano solos and a great slide show at the very end of everyone in the family and what they have been up to this past year. It was so fun!

My Uncle John playing the concertina. We loooove when he plays, because it brings back such fond memories of my grandpa playing it while my grandma sang.
