How we like to play

My kids are so full of energy (mostly Wa'a) and thrive on play time and especially being outdoors. With a broken leg and it being so cold outside, we aren't able to run around as much. But when we do, it's great fun. We took advantage of warmer weather when the snow melted, and then played outside again after the best snowfall.

I can just hear my mother and MIL telling Wa'a to get down since he could fall or get a serious splinter. :p

He loves anything he can climb. Especially this tree.

She desperately wanted in on the action.

Jumping off the tree makes this kid giggle for hours

I got the kids all dressed up in their layers of snow gear and dragged them outside for some powder play. All while talking to Meags on the phone! Whew. Clara mostly sat, and Wa'a refused to wear his gloves, which lead him to telling me that his hands were burning and ouchie.

I bought this snowsuit when Wa'a was a baby at Savers (like a DI) for 5 bucks. It is in perfect condition and I am so glad Clara gets to use it now.

The reason she doesn't move, is because she only cares about eating the snow. She loves to chow down on it.

When we can't go outside, I try to do fun things to pass the time and keep them entertained. Painting a big ol' box was great fun. Except Clara kept trying to eat it. :/

I seriously love play that involves getting dirty. It's so good for the sensory part of their brain and helps them explore and have fun. Summer time in the dirt and mud is the best!

We also take a lot of baths. The kids love it and it's always so fun to play in the water, especially for littles. And it's easy on my sore leg to be able to sit and watch them play.

I love these dino foam toys. They are meant to cling to the wall, and the are so fun for the kids. I'm ordering more animal ones and maybe a princess or two or Clara. :)

This portion should be up with the painting box. We played with shaving cream and added food coloring to it. We painted plates and paper, and of course, Wa'a painted his body. Ugh. :)

Wa'a likes to stack high all my spices.

When we can actually go outdoors, it's usually on a Saturday with Dad. We went to Chick Fil A for breakfast, and the owner of the store was there for a family party. The cow was out and about entertaining all the kids and we got free toys. It was so fun. And of course, my kids loved the play place.

This makes me giggle. Clara got stuck in the hanging car (upper right hand corner of picture) and she refused to come out. Wa'a couldn't lift her to us, so Erwin had to enlist the help of a little 9 yr old girl to go get her. Then he felt like he was going to get stuck in the tube trying to pull her out the rest of the way. haha.

Clara refused to slide all the way down the slide. So Erwin again had to climb up to get her.

Playing outside wears them out. It's great.

And of course, when we are home and want down time, they climb into mama's bed to watch movies.

Such great fun!!! (And you must have a limitless supply of patience. Haha. With all the "creative exploration," there's that debbie-downer part of me that just thinks: mess. mess. mess. Hahaha.)Glad you're making the most of it! (And I totally remember you multitasking that day! Such a rockstar! XOXO)
