I was asked by a member of the Relief Society to teach the lesson this past Sunday. It was from the Teachings of the Prophets book--Gordon B. Hinckley, chapter 3. It was the perfect lesson for me, since it was all about attitude, happiness and gratitude. My favorite things!

But I was nervous. My thoughts felt jumbled and it had been a while since I taught. So I skipped Sunday School, and sat in a random room to go over my lesson and say a few prayers; pleading for support and help.

Erwin was waiting in the hallway chatting with someone. I decided to join him. I walked out the door, and lo and behold, there stood the Rivas family and Ally. I was shocked to see them. I think my jaw dropped a little and I gasped. But I knew why they were there.

I had told Cam that I was going to be teaching and they decided to be sneaky and all showed up to support me. Kids and all! I grinned wide and gave hugs all around. The kids were shown to primary and Lena to nursery with Clara, and the boys headed off to Priesthood.

I felt so grateful as I taught my entire lesson, to see my two sister in laws sitting out in the crowd. To me, they are more like sisters without the in-law part, and I felt blessed to see their smiling faces and feel of their support. The added strength and love was felt and oh-so needed.

Afterwards, we headed back to our house, and Cam had brought lunch for everyone. (another surprise) We ate hot dogs, chips and jello with brownies and strawberries for dessert. It was delicious. It was relaxing and fun. And as they drove away hours later, my heart felt overwhelmed. I am grateful for their love. Their service. Their kindness. Their support. Grateful for family.

God is good. :)
