Our last day in St. George was July 4th! The kids had painted cute matching shirts just for this day and wore them to the parade. (Great idea Cam!)
We all had no idea why the parade started at 7:30 in the morning, then we realized it might be because it is just too hot to do it any later. Ugh.
So we woke up by 6:30 and were out the door by 7:15 a.m.
We found a great spot with tons of shade and set up camp! The kids ended up sitting on the curb or standing in the road to see things better and get as much free candy as they could from everyone. Wahoo!
It was a nice parade, but it felt more like a car show to us, and nothing was super themed. Weird.
Afterward, there was a huge carnival and tons of games and booths set up, but we skipped all that and went right for the food at Black Bear Diner. YUM!

I'm totally that mom that makes sure that no other kids (ah hem. Referring to the group of girls in this picture) steal from him or block him from getting any candy. Watch out! Mama bear is here!

Someone walked around and handed out free little American flags.
I don't have any pictures from our time at Black Bear diner! But we all had breakfast food and enjoyed every single bite.
After lunch, we did more shopping at the store to replace what we had used in the house, and get more snacks for the road trip home.
The kids watched movies while the adults packed and cleaned like crazy.
Then it was time for us to go. :(
The Rivas family left first, while we stayed to finish laundry. We all gave hugs and Wa'a cried when they drove away. Cami and I agreed it ended way too soon.

We decided to join in on Wa'a's inability to open his eyes for the picture. :)
The kids did well on the drive home, and we made one pit stop for food and gas. We got home around 8:30 that night, and went outside to get sparklers and end the 4th of July right! We had some neighbors who set off super high and big fireworks, so we got a little bit of our own show from our front porch. We were tired, hot, but oh-so-happy. It truly was such a fun and great trip, (and SO needed) and we couldn't have asked for better people to spend it with!
