Oh my cute son. All he has wanted for the past 2 years was a dinosaur birthday party. We didn't get a chance to celebrate his birthday last year, (happened around my miscarriage and surgery), so we tried to get him everything he wanted for his birthday this year.
His requests were simple:
1.A dinosaur birthday party
2. A dinosaur birthday cake
We waited to have his party until the following weekend of his actual birthday. But we sure spend his special day in style, and he was in HEAVEN.
My parents called and asked if they could take Wa'a to the Dino Park in Ogden. It's been 2 years since we've been, and Wa'a was sooooooo excited to go again. He was on could nine the entire time.
He kept racing from dinosaur to dinosaur asking "What is this one called?" And always saying "Oh my goodness! This is amazing!" (Imagine that in his little voice. It was the best.)
It was a hot day, but we all enjoyed every moment, because nothing is better than seeing your child so happy that you wonder if their heart will burst.
He woke up to some birthday decorations!
Kekai was in a great mood. She must have known it was her brothers special day!
On our way to Ogden. What a long drive! :/
Ready to go in!
I was SO hot. I thought this picture captured my dripping face. It didn't.
These dinos are so lifelike, it even creeps me out a bit.
Wa'a wasn't scared of them, but he did think that they roared "too loud."
Clara didn't mind anything.
He is obsessed with T Rex.
Wa'a dragged my dad all around the park asking a billion questions. It was cute.
My mom brought a mister water bottle. It saved us on this hot day.
She didn't care about the playground. She just loved the sand.
They got hot and tired. :)
Man it was a good time! After we dropped off Nana and Papa, we went to the store to get Wa'a another request. A chocolate donut!
Erwin carved out and frosted a very impressive Trex cake for Wa'a. It was so great. :)
Gifts from the Kauai Ohana!
We laughed that Moni and Grandpa accidentally wished him a happy 5th birthday.
Yay for clothes! Thank you!
We have pictures of Wa'a opening a few gifts from us on his birthday, and I have even more pics of him on his party, BUT they weren't loading and I am too tired to try to figure it out. So I will post what worked!
Saturday finally came, and it was time for his big party! Wa'a only wanted family to come, so the Rivas' came and Aunt Ally and Nana and Papa.
Erwin and I decorated the house and got everything ready for him to have a great time!
We decorated the house with all of his dino toys.
We made a tree out of balloons bc Wa'a wanted to show that the dinosaurs lived around trees. :)
I found such great dinosaur balloons! These are actually cute. The rest of his decor was very Jurassic Park/scarier dinos.
The tablecloth and plates!
Cam had her kids come in dino attire. It was SO cute.
We got him another T Rex cake! Only this time we got it special ordered. He loved it so much, I thought he would scream. :)
Eating dinner. We had grilled hot dogs, chili, watermelon, tater tots, cantelope, rice, and jello.
Everyone's mouth and tongue turned blue and green from the cake!
This is where I should have aaallllll the pictures of him opening his gifts. :( Watching him open all of them was the best part. 90% of his gifts were dinosaur related, and he gasped and hugged every single one while yelling "More dinosaur stuff! Yaaaaay!!"
The kids all went and played in the sandbox after.
The adults peppered.
My mom loved to sit and play with the kids.
I'm so tired here.
My momma!
The aftermath from the party. Meags said she was glad she wasn't here for this part. :D :D haha!
More aftermath.
He loves this book so much. (From the Zempos!) (he also put his dinosaur toys from them in a special place so no one else could touch them. hehe.)
Ninja turtle car from Aunty Ally!
T rex model from Nana and Papa!
These are all the books he got.
He got so many more GREAT gifts from family, and he seriously loved every single one of them.
Man, we love our dino loving 4 yr old! He had such a great time celebrating his birthday, and he felt SO loved by so many. Thank you to all who support him and love him.
I want to express so much more of my love for my son, and give more insight about him and what makes him so wonderful. But I am working on that as a separate post and will get that published soon.
