Last year my gift to Erwin was coming home from the hospital. ;) This year, I wanted to try to make it fun and special since he missed out a little last year.
Erwin posted every single thing we did on FB. And all those pics are from his phone and I can't seem to get them to send to mine very well, so I will post what I have, which is almost nothing. :)
*The night before I decorated the living room and blew up ballons while he slept with the kids.
*Morning came, and we showered him with cards, his gifts and lots and lots of hugs and kisses from the kiddos.
*We then got dressed and headed to Keaders for his birthday breakfast. It was so good and the kids ate well and were well behaved. We got there before the rush and enjoyed a big table to ourselves.
*We then drove to Traverse Mountain to do some shoe shopping! Erwin had wanted new sneakers, but we ended up getting him some new black dress shoes. Which by the way, he hasn't had in over a year. Multiple people had tried to buy him new ones,but they never were the right fit or style. So I was over the moon he finally found some!
*We also got him some new headphones and ate ice cream for our mid day snack.
*We then went home and put the kids down for a nap. Erwin worked on his costume and I worked on the house.
*Erwin went to get his hair cut.
*Surprise time! I took him go cart racing with his best friend John, and boy was Erwin surprised. He and John had so much fun racing and laughed and teased afterwards about who really won.
*We then headed to SLC to meet family at the Hogle Zoo for "Boo Lights". It was great weather, super fun displays and such a fun things to see with all the kids.
It was a long, non stop day, but somehow it was pretty perfect in almost every way, which is just what I wanted for him.

Oops! Can't forget that we went on Sunday to celebrate Erwin with my parents. We ate a delicious hot meal and ended it with homemade apple pie by my mom. I love that we always sing Happy Birthday in English and Portuguese. Wa'a is good at singing both now. It was a great time!
