I'll never forget when my sister sent me a text with a picture of a flight itinerary. I was so confused, until I realized that it was showing a flight from Texas to Utah. It was for her and the fam! I literally screamed out loud and was frankly, in shock. I hadn't seen my sister in over two years! Let alone spent any holidays together in forever! It was such a wonderful surprise. Having such a small family and only one sister, makes it hard when you don't have anyone else more. That is probably why we are such dear friends, even when we drive the other crazy.
They were only here for 3 short days, and I saw her only almost 2 days worth. But those few hours each day was great.
When they pulled up, I ran out to give her a hug and I got all choked up. It was so nice to see everyone after such a long time.
The nicest and greatest surprise was how well our kids LOVED each other. Her kids are also shy like mine and not knowing or remembering really anything about each other, we wondered if they would make efforts to even talk to one another.
They jumped right into each others arms and played and loved on each other like you wouldn't believe. It was so sweet.
I told Erwin that it was so strange to go back to my mom's house after Thanksgiving lunch and have more family there than just us. And even weirder that it was loud with children giggles playing chase and reading books. I spend much more time with Erwin's side of the family (whom I love like my own) and those nieces and nephews, that it felt so new for me to actually have my own around. But I loooooooooooooooooooved it. Man, I loved it.

It was great to see everyone, and even tho the time was short, it worked well for everyone and we all had a great time. They come back in June when they pass through Utah to their new home in Arizona, so it's nice to know it won't be another two years until we see each other again.
