Cup of tea

Clara Joy has a tea set. I bought it for her when I noticed that she requested to watch over and over a particular episode of a show where her favorite characters pretend play "tea time" together. I had no idea when it arrived the amount of joy it would bring her, but most of all the amount of joy it would bring me. Seeing Clara pretend play is always a milestone that I prayed she could accomplish one day, and for some reason this tea set brings this skill out more consistently than almost anything else. In the beginning, Clara carried the set around all day and carefully took out each piece and placed them intentionally with each doll or person she was playing with. I would find her setting up all over the house and could not help but giggle as I would over hear her babble with her dolls in a language only they all understand. She would beg to bring it all to cousins house or my parents house and ask everyone to play with her, and so far everyone has willingly obliged. But what I really love is that she calls the entire set, as well as each piece, her "cup of tea". Tyler now calls it that too, and I love when I hear him say to Clara "Play cup of tea clara!" And then when he steals one of her plates, she yells "Hey! Give me back my cup of tea!" We all love this simple tea set and the happiness it brings Clara Joy.

Gangs all here!

Playing tea with Nana is a must.

When Grandpa was in town, she made sure he got his own tea time with her, and he happily did so.

Tea time with cousins was full of giggles and smiles.

Even Wa'a will sometimes join in for a minute or two.
