Music time

It is rare that I will commit to a monthly subscription of anything, but I discovered KiwiCo and decided that I really loved it enough to pay the monthly fee for two boxes worth of activities. I am fully aware that some of these boxes I could have gone to the dollar store and gotten creative and done myself, but most I could not or would not, so I appreciate the thought and work being done ahead of time and shipped to my door! The kids get so excited when they see the boxes arrive and love to do each activity. This months theme was music. We first read the story book that comes and learn about the different kinds of instruments that the characters introduce. There is an activity in the book as well and we complete that. We then dive into the box. There are three separate and different crafts, and we do one by one. This was especially fun to do together bc Erwin was off of work and able to join us, and bc my children love music. They loved seeing how they were able to make their own instruments!

They absolutely loved that each piece made a different sound based on length and placement.

I had gotten my tooth pulled earlier that day and was not feeling well. Yes, you read that right. My tooth was pulled out of my jaw. Gah. A small molar that has given me grief for years. Just my luck. And not only did they pull the tooth out, they drilled in a metal post up into its place. That was quite the feeling. And quite to kick in the stomach to have to pay for it all up front before I left. And let me tell you, it cost almost as much as my first semester at USU all those years ago. So I came home with a mouth full of blood and a headache. So I did the one thing that was easiest and just so happens to give my kids immense amount of joy. I toasted up some Paw Patrol eggo waffles. Who knew putting characters on the waffles would make them that much better? For that I'm grateful.

Naao always likes to climb into my bed, but the swamp cooler blows right on him and makes him chilly so he wraps himself up super tight in my blankets. It makes us giggle.

How fun! I've never heard of that company. You'll have to tell me more about these boxes. :)
