Tyler really loves to wear this mop on his head, and every time we see him pop from around a corner, we laugh and laugh. He enjoys ticking our faces with it and running around saying "look at mee! look at mee!"
A few months ago I bought face markers. The kids found them and jumped at the chance to draw on their faces. It was still early in the morning, and when they begged me to join in I accepted since I knew I could shower right after. I am so glad I allowed myself to let this happen with all of us because our morning was full of giggles and smiles. Each kid got to choose whey they drew on their face, as well as take turs to draw all over me! I enjoy this kind of play with my kids where they can be expressive and allow imagination to happen, but I especially want my kids to remember how I often would join in and have memorable moments of fun together, even if it is messy.
One night I made myself some toast. Clara begged and begged me to allow her to make me more, so I gave her two pieces to make me and a butter knife and some butter. Little did I know that Clara would use more than half of the cube of butter and desperately wanted to make me a sandwich from it...When she wasn't looking I threw it away, but I was laughing and smiling from the whole thing.
Waa still loves picnics and we ventured out on a very sunny and warm afternoon after school work was done to enjoy our lunch outside. It was such simple yet profound few hours together outside for me. I am often overwhelmed with illness that I more than ever cherish the moments with my kids that fill my cup with joy. I always try to remember to thank Heavenly Father for the ability to be with my kids and enjoy the blessings of motherhood. Then I pray for the other mommies who I know can't be with their bc of illness or have passed on, bc I know of many and I ache for them.
Clara found my phone and ended up taking a bunch of pictures of me and Waa sitting on the couch together. I kind of love them.
Clara is becoming more and more dare devil like with our swing set. I often find her outside hanging from it and swinging her body back and forth, or hear her yelling for help to get down when she climbs on top and can't figure how to not fall off.
