We had some small adventures happen over the past few weeks. Some exciting and some not so much. Below are just some of those things with descriptions under the pictures.
| We did a volcano experiment with Clara and Wa'a. It was short and sweet but the excitement from the both was worth it as always. Clara especially fought for her right to participate and we loved it. |
| Clara has been struggling to fall asleep lately. We usually lay with our kids until they drift off but we left them this night and over an hour later we found her like this. :) |
| Found Waa asleep like this. |
| Surprise, surprise, Naao was still awake too. |
| I will never tire finding Clara's dolls put to bed over the house. |
| Our garbage disposal stopped working and then wouldn't drain water. It started to spout up dirty water and we had to call someone to come fix it. Our technician was an older man from France. I was smitten with him from the moment he spoke bc of his thick beautiful accent and kind demeanor. Even Erwin wanted to stick around and just listen to him talk. He even offered to come on his days off and replace our kitchen faucet (if we ever get around to that). He is a convert and loves the church. He was a gem. |
| I bought these paper people at the dollar store. Waa loved picking out the correct colors according to each members skin color and then drawing our features. It fascinates me to see how our children see us through their eyes. I am the pasty white one. That is pretty accurate. :) |
| I loved this church lesson. We had Christ cut out and glued to a paper plate. We then cut a thin slit in between his arms and slid some people in between to show how Christ watches over us and cares for us. |
| I have never bought my children their own bed set before. We could never really afford it and my kids have always shared a bed anyway so the need to buy them fun and cute bedding that they wanted for themselves was never an option. We put the twin mattress in the kids' room and after a while Waa decided he wanted to stop sharing with Clara and sleep on his own on this mattress. With our tiny house they may never get their own rooms, so I at least really wanted their beds to feel like their own special space. I was able to find some great deals on some simple bedding and bought it for them. They were incredibly happy and so excited and they love having their beds now look their own. |
| I am in love with Clara's bed set. |
| Sticker by numbers has been a great activity for Waa |
| We bought a math game to help Waa practice. He loves to win so we laughed and egged him on to help him try harder. |
| Waa drew Anger from the movie Inside Out. He did a great job! |
| This massive tree was cut down and we almost didn't recognize where we were without it. |
| I went to the ENT for tinnitus that developed in my ears. It sounds like a distant lawn mower or a low flying plane in my head and it is awful. I went four nights with only two hours of sleep because the sound was so loud and I couldn't rest. I felt like I was literally losing my mind and was barely functioning bc of how exhausted I was. The Dr tested my hearing in a fancy testing booth (haven't done that since I was a kid), cleaned out my ears, and asked me a lot questions. He put me on a weeks worth of steroids just in case I had middle ear swelling that he couldn't see, and then recommended some vitamins that have shown to help with tinnitus. I still have it, but luckily the severity of it has lessened dramatically and it comes and goes, but I still sleep with my fan on to help drown out the noise for when it pops up. I feel so bad for people who suffer from this constantly with a high pitch shrill, bc there is no cure. I will also never take for granted silence, bc once you lose it you realize how valuable and sacred it is. |
