Having my house full of children laughing and playing is music to my ears and the joy to my heart. I love the sound of feet running around, little mouths gobbling down food and seeing the sun set after a time of contentment. I truly would love being the neighborhood mom whose fridge is always stocked with food and goodies for all the kids and whose house is the one that is always (or usually. hehe) open for visitors and friends. (after homework is done, of course! wink, wink)
So of course play dates are fun. And of course family time is fun. And playdates with family is the MOST fun.
We were so happy to schedule with Cami for me to swing by after picking up Clara from school and get her kids to come to our house.
I pulled in front of Cam's house and her kids came running out super fast and piled into my van in a flash. I giggled.
On the drive home they told me they had two rules to follow:
1. Mind their manners
2. Wear their jackets when playing outside
When they were done I then told them they forgot the MOST important rule of all. They looked a little panicked and confused.
So of course I bust out into song.
"Rule number three is: HAVE FUUUUUN!!"
Then I started to dance. They all were so startled and then busted out laughing.
Swing set time!
I taught Kaleb how to use a leaf blower.
Naturally he wanted to use it to blow over his cousins and siblings instead. :D
Races!
Leaf piles are always the most fun thing
Aaron found lots of bird feathers in the pile
Trampoline time
Waa dove head first into the pile. We love this pic.
Tree swings are always fun
Tyler woke up from his nap and hugged Clara straight away
Then of course his BFF Kaleb
Then Lena
Some of the kids wanted to draw and color while I made dinner
We were able to have a campfire and roast some marshmellows
We got glowsticks and had a dance party on the tramp. Even in the wind and cold they laughed and had fun. We headed inside to finish the night before Cam came and got them.
Waa drew a Liger for Benjie
Ju drew butterfly
Lena painted herself with a flower and the sun
Ty got upset and went to Kaleb for comfort
We ended the night with an intense game of Jenga
It was a great day of fun with cousins. We all enjoyed ourselves. :)
