Happy 35th Erwin

If Erwin can ever sleep in on his days off, he jumps at the chance to. But that will never happen on his birthday with little kids. They were so excited to run into the room and jump all over him singing happy birthday and throwing his birthday bags at him. Erwin got to blow out a candle on a Hawaiian roll and open his sleepy eyes to the kids taking back his gifts and opening them for him be he was too slow. :) It was a sweet way to start the day and he didn't seem to mind that he didn't get extra sleep.

Soon after he opened his gifts from the kids, we made a massive breakfast where his parents were able to join us. We enjoyed every delicious bite of bacon, kneaders toast, eggs and fruit.

We ventured out to Costco with Moni and Grandpa. The kids were thrilled to get more time with them.

Grandpa asked Waa and Clara to help him pick out a watermelon. They did a great job!

After Costco and more errands ran, The Rivas family came to celebrate dinner with us. The boys played a game of Kubb while everyone waited for me to get the pizza order. Erwin likes this game a lot and rarely loses. So it was funny to see his dad beat him a few times. :)

Gift time! I recommended that the theme for all who asked be around helping update his stay at home office, and boy did everyone deliver! He got great gifts to help keep his warm and comfy out there!

This vegetarian pizza was a little bizarre to see with limes all over it. We chuckled and it ended up being tasty.

Erwin's favorite cake made by his mom.

We ended the night playing Jackbox games. This is always fun to play and makes almost everyone laugh together, which is my favorite.

The Saturday before his actual birthday we went to my parents house to celebrate Erwin early with them. We ate yummy hamburgers with an amazing apple cobbler and caramel ice cream, and gave him our big surprise gift early!

My cute mom gifted the kids these Halloween shirts. They put them on immediately.

My parents kept with the office update theme. He got great gifts!

My family all pitched in on getting Erwin an actual chair for the studio outside where he works instead of the folding chair he had been sitting on. I ordered it late and was told it might not get there in time for our little party. I prayed really hard that it would arrive in time at my parents house before we got there, and it did! I felt so grateful for an answered prayer, and was so excited to surprise him!

Erwin was totally surprised and very happy with this gift. This is a rare occurrence.

I accidently ordered a chair that technically is that right size, but the one size up would have been a better option for him. Shoot. But he still loved it.

It was wonderful to be able to celebrate Erwin with my family and his family this year. It is always wonderful to have his parents in town. He felt loved, appreciated and happy. What a great day!

What a great themed-gift idea!
