Richy

Sarah Richardson (now Reynolds) was one of my companions while serving my mission in Ecuador. She was one of the biggest blessing to me there, and still continues to be one of the dearest people in my life. She is "Richy" to me, and I am "Liggs" to her. We never call the other Sarah. :)

She lives in Texas now with her family, but came to UT for a few weeks to visit friends and family. She stayed with me for two nights before she headed off to another vacation.
It was so good to see her and all of her kids! Over all these years, it's been wonderful to see her change as she became a wife and a mother, but nothing has changed about her as a friend. She is still has devoted, kind, thoughtful and charitable as ever. So we had a great time with her and her small family here!

We went to the Bean museum on BYU campus with all our littles.

We stopped at the BYU bookstore and we all spent a good hour or so there....

Clara always falls asleep on Erwin's shoulders like this. No joke.

In Ecuador, mostly in the coast, there is a soup called Encebollado. It was one of my favorite dishes to eat while there, and I still have found memories finding a street vendor who sold it, and sitting down with everyone while savoring every bite. Richy has found a recipe to make it work here in the Unites States, and she and I went all over Utah county to different stores to find all the ingredients. When we did, she went right to work and made us Encebollado for dinner.
I couldn't believe the nostalgia as we ate, and I felt so many different emotions come flooding back to me. Crazy how food and smells can transport you back to a different time. Sigh. It was delicious!!

To die for!
We took some to my dad. He loved it!

All the kids got along well and enjoyed laughing together. Sean especially made Clara laugh.

On Richy's last day here, she surprised me with a massage at the Orem college. We went bright and early and enjoyed our massages and the time alone as friends. Afterward, we got Kneaders for breakfast, and soon after, her husband came into town and they were off to their next adventure!
I love you Richy! Thank you for coming, and for being one of the best friends a girl could ask for.
