Solar Eclipse

Looking back, I am pretty disappointed that I didn't experience the solar eclipse to it's fullest extent. Now I wish that I had packed up the kids and gone to Idaho or Wyoming to be in the path of totality, but maybe I'll do that when it happens again. (I'll be...70?)

So many friends of mine witnessed it, and were so overcome with emotions at the wonder of the solar system and of course, the creations of God. Even Erwin at work got to go outside and use special glasses to look up at the sun and see the moon covering it.

BUT, I will be honest. It creeped me out a little here at home. The sunlight all of a sudden became extremely dim...almost like there was a weird dark tint and filter. The coloring was so strange to me and it felt so bizarre. It also dropped about 15 degrees, which was also so crazy for me to feel how quickly it went from hot to cool. It all seemed pretty surreal.
It was fun however to see how the shadows were so different. Hair looked fuzzy, there were crescent shapes everywhere and tree leaves looked different.
It really was so interesting that even I got to experience it, even without traveling anywhere or using fancy glasses. God is amazing!
I so appreciate that I got to see and feel differences and really think about how truly wondrous our planet it, the sun and moon and the entire universe. God is great!

Cool! Yeah, astronomy was never a strong interest of mine, but I'm sure it was humbling to be reminded of just how great our Heavenly Father is. You know, it's kind of like our earthly parents. They're just Mom and Dad to us. But when we're reminded of their "professional" lives and the work they've done, it's kind of surreal... Haha.

Glad you were able to experience a bit of it!
