Simple days and getting through

During this period of seemingly constant physical problems and pain, there are sometimes days where I am able to find the strength to plow right on through whatever it is I need or want to tackle, or more truthfully, whatever it is that comes hurdling toward me. Grateful for these days where I can make it till bedtime like I used to be able to, instead of needing to rest for hours or cry in the bathroom over how awful I feel. This day was a day that God allowed me to conquer the mundane and chaotic.

Kids woke up an hour earlier than usual.

I see the dark circles under my eyes already. Maybe it's makeup. It doesn't matter, I look exhausted already.

These two buddies climbed onto my bed and destroyed my many piles of neatly folded clothes. Apparently clothes are more fun to throw around and layer on than put away responsibly in drawers.

My kids are outside every day for hours. But I never allow them swim alone. So when it comes to water play I make sure to sit outside and monitor them. Clothes were stripped off and bum cheeks were splashing around in the pool before I even made it half way across the yard. So much for the 10 minutes I spent digging around in the dryer for their swimsuits. *facepalm* We all were giggling and pretty soon they were making tidal waves and pretending to be on the beach.

Wa'a really loves a tv show called Gigantosauras. The introduction song is catchy and they apparently all know it by heart. While waiting for my groceries, Clara burst out into song and Tyler followed suit. Pretty soon once became twice, three time, four times...you get the idea. So I filmed them singing each singing it. So cute.

After a busy day full with playful and energetic kids as well as actual real life work getting done, I was spent by 5 o clock and was struggling to do anything. I felt physically beaten, which made me feel emotionally sad. Luckily Erwin and Waa sat down in front of me and played a drawing game that cheered me up. They were going to compete against each other by drawing the correct answer to the question "What's my favorite?" So I asked them about my favorite drink, animal, holiday, etc. It was so funny to see them giggle and draw their answers. I was grateful for the day and for the moments that I was able to experience made me choose to smile.
